Here are more gems we’ve found during the background screening process. Get ready to meet a smooth-talking multitasker, Mr. or Ms. Magnificent, an aircraft assembler who oversimplifies the job, the strangest job title you’ve ever seen, and someone who was a little too honest.
Getting creative on the résumé:
Skills: “Creative in everything, outgoing, friendly, smooth talker (both oral and written), chews gum and walks at the same time, driven (not just in a car), works well with others, uses common sense, IT nerd, and all around nice guy.”
And on the cover letter: “I am a self-starter with astonishing confidence that the skills I have are a perfect match for your company. My communication skills are that of magnificent, verbally and physically. I am a very fast learner along with a super dose of reliability.”
Oh, is that how they’re made?
Company: [Redacted] Aircraft Co.
List and describe duties and responsibilities: “Built business jet using blue prints, planning and many hand tools.”
I’ve been called worse: Job Title: “Meat Package”
Then again … Occupation: “Prostitute”
Maybe this question will go better: What are your hobbies or interests?: “Always be responsible, to obtain my challenge, to work hard.”

Employers Must Update FCRA Notices For Their Background Check Programs Before January 1, 2013
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has revised the “FCRA Summary of Rights” document to incorporate amongst other things the new agency - Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) that now has oversight over the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Before January 1, 2013, employers should use the new FCRA notice for their background check programs. The FCRA Summary of Rights form must be included: (1) as an enclosure with the first of the two “adverse action” notices—the “pre-adverse action” notice; and (2) with the disclosures for “investigative consumer reports” (i.e., consumer reports based on personal interviews conducted by a consumer reporting agency (CRA), such as in-depth reference checks).

In addition to the revised Summary of Rights document, the FTC has also changed the Notice to End-Users to incorporate similar changes reflected in the Summary of Rights notice.
